Thursday, August 10, 8:00 pm: Alliance Chorus
Enjoy an evening of nostalgia with this 40-member, a cappella men’s chorus that performs four-part barbershop harmony with an expertise that has earned them medals at international competitions. Lose yourselves in the music and entertaining stage presence of this dynamic ensemble. This free event is presented by Ashland’s Summer Concert Series at the Myers Memorial Band Shell.
Saturday, August 12, 3:00 p.m.: Veterans Appreciation Day
Whether or not you or your parents have served in the military, you will love this community event designed to honor our men and women in uniform. Enjoy a cookout, fireworks, military vehicle display, and even special “appearances” by Bob Hope and General Patton! This free event is held at the Ashland County Airport.
Saturday, August 19, 4:00 p.m.: 2017 A.C.W.C.L. Catfish Tournament
Does Mom or Dad have a hankering for fishing? Enter them in this catfish tournament at Ashland County Wildlife Conservation Farm, a competition offering hourly door prizes, cash prizes for award-winning catches, and an evening of fun in the great outdoors! Entrance fees are just $10 for one pole, $15 for two.
Throughout the Month: Farmers Markets
A number of farmers markets are offered throughout the month of August, including the Farmers Market at Christ United Methodist Church (Saturdays, 9am-11am), The Farm Market at Honey Haven Farm (Mondays, 10am-6pm), and the Downtown Farmers Market at City Lot B (3pm-5pm).
