Chief Executive Officer
Troy has been at Brethren Care Village since 2013. Before coming to Brethren Care Village, Troy was Executive Director of another Continuing Care Retirement Community in Ohio. He became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1993 and has worked for various for-profit and non-profit organizations. Troy served a 4 year term in the United States Marine Corps. He has a degree in Health Policy Administration from Penn State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Matt has been at Brethren Care Village since 2013. Prior to coming to Brethren Care Village, Matt worked as a public accounting performing auditor. Most of his experience in public accounting involved working with non-profit organizations. Matt has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2008. Matt graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.
Director of Housing, Director of Developement
Mindy has worked at Brethren Care Village since 1999. She began her career here as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) at the Nursing Center where she joined various committees focusing on Alzheimer/Dementia residents and became involved in improving resident's quality of life. She has continued her education through training workshops and seminars specializing in long term care. In 2005, she worked as the Scheduling Coordinator for one year at the Nursing Center and then took the position as Bradford House Coordinator in 2006. She accepted the 2007 AOPHA Excellence in Service Best Practice for Assisted Living Award in September 2007. In December 2007, she was promoted as the Director of Bradford House. In October 2013, she was promoted again to the Director of Housing.
Director of Brookwood Place
Makalah began working at Brethren Care Village in 2006. She is currently the Director of Assisted Living where she oversees the daily operations of Brookwood Place. She also shares the admissions responsibilities of the assisted and independent living buildings. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and underwent training to become a Certified Aging Services Professional through the University of North Texas.
Carrie Harpster, MGS, LNHA
Administrator, Health Care Center
Carrie graduated from Miami University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. She continued her studies at Miami and in 2006 earned a Master of Gerontological Studies degree with a focus in long-term care administration. She spent time at Brethren Care Village as an intern in the summer of 2005 and as an Administrator-in-Training following graduation. She has experience in independent, assisted, and nursing home administration. She joined the Brethren Care Village staff in 2007 and currently serves as the Nursing Home Administrator.
Director of Marketing/ Community Relations
Camille Garbash is the Director of Marketing for Brethren Care Village. She has over 14 years of experience in senior living care. She is responsible for promoting, marketing and building community awareness of the excellent care and services provided at Brethren Care Village. She plans and coordinates on-campus events for the community to build the awareness of our senior care options. She serves as a liaison to area organizations, clubs and local business’s to build positive experiences with Brethren Care Village. She is also responsible for materials that educate, communicate and inform the community and area organizations about Brethren Care Village. Camille is a member of the Ashland Kiwanis and serves as a board member of that organization. She also serves as a board member of the Ashland Council on Aging.
Director of Facilities
Chuck began working at Brethren Care Village in 2000 as a maintenance Tech. In 2003 he was promoted to Maintenance Services Manager. In 2004 Chuck was promoted once again to his current position, Director of Facilities. Before coming to Brethren Care Village, Chuck worked at Mansfield Plumbing Products for 22 years.
