Troy Snyder
Chief Executive Officer

Troy has been at Brethren Care Village since 2013. Before coming to Brethren Care Village, Troy was Executive Director of another Continuing Care Retirement Community in Ohio. He became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1993 and has worked for various for-profit and non-profit organizations. Troy served a 4 year term in the United States Marine Corps. He has a degree in Health Policy Administration from Penn State University.

Andy Harpster
Director of Housing/ Director of Development aharpster@brethrencarevillage.org
Andy has worked at Brethren Care Village since 1998 and has experience in operations management, fundraising, and development. He is the Director of Housing and oversees the daily operations of Belmont Tower. He also serves as Development Director and is responsible for capital campaigns, annual appeals and leading general fund-raising efforts for Brethren Care Village. He earned his degree in Business Administration from North Central State College.
Mindy Scurlock
Director of Bradford Houses and Bloomfield Cottages

Mindy has worked at Brethren Care Village since 1999. She began her career here as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) at the Nursing Center where she joined various committees focusing on Alzheimer/Dementia residents and became involved in improving resident's quality of life. She has continued her education through training workshops and seminars specializing in long term care. In 2005, she worked as the Scheduling Coordinator for one year at the Nursing Center and then took the position as Bradford House Coordinator in 2006. She accepted the 2007 AOPHA Excellence in Service Best Practice for Assisted Living Award in September 2007. In December 2007, she was promoted as the Director of Bradford House.
Makalah Bays
Assistant Director of Housing

Makalah began working at Brethren Care Village in 2006. She is currently the Assistant Director of Housing where she oversees the daily operations of Brookwood Place. She also shares the admissions responsibilities of the assisted and independent living buildings. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and underwent training to become a Certified Aging Services Professional through the University of North Texas.
Carrie Harpster, MGS, LNHA
Administrator, Health Care Center

Carrie graduated from Miami University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. She continued her studies at Miami and in 2006 earned a Master of Gerontological Studies degree with a focus in long-term care administration. She spent time at Brethren Care Village as an intern in the summer of 2005 and as an Administrator-in-Training following graduation. She has experience in independent, assisted, and nursing home administration. She joined the Brethren Care Village staff in 2007 and currently serves as the Nursing Home Administrator.

Kevin Hawk, LPN
Admissions Coordinator, Health Care Center

Kevin began working at Brethren Care Village in 2011. He is the primary contact for all admissions to the Health Care Center. Kevin graduated from North Central State College as an LPN.

Dann Simmons, R.N. Director of Nursing, Health Care Center dsimmons@brethrencarevillage.org
Dann, a native of Ashland, began his nursing career at Brethren Care Village in 1980. He received his R.N. degree from Med Central College of Nursing and Ohio State University in 1990 and his Gerontological Nurse Specialist Certification in 1995. He has a wide variety of health care experience. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in long term care and skilled nursing and rehabilitation services and their correlation with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage. Recipient of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce 2007 Customeer Service of the Year Award, he realizes the importance of providing the best health care sevices possible. Dann and his family reside in Ashland.
Camille Garbash
Marketing/ Community Services Coordinator

Camille Garbash is the Marketing/Community Services Coordinator for Brethren Care Village. She has over 9 years of experience in senior living care. She is responsible for promoting, marketing and building community awareness of the excellent care and services provided at Brethren Care Village. She plans and coordinates on-campus events for the community to build the awareness of our senior care options. She serves as a liason to area organizations, clubs and local business’s to build positive experiences with Brethren Care Village. She is also responsible for materials that educate, communicate and inform the community and area organizations about Brethren Care Village.
